Horseradish Festival 2010

We missed the festival last year, so this year we were all over it. Not to mention the movers had been at the house on Thursday and Friday, we were definitely ready for the day off. So, Richie and I packed up the kids and met Mom at the festival. (Mom, was with Ben in the morning and brought Pearl with her to pick up Preston and we had a sleep over at the house that night) The first thing the kids wanted was a tattoo, so we headed over to the kiosk. Then after the tattoos, we walked over to the pavilion to see what activities they had planned and Richie signed us up for Horseradish Root Sacking contest. On a whim, he decided we should try it. We were one of the last teams and WE WON!! With a whopping 51 pounds in the bag!!! Now, it is time for lunch.

Watermelon is a must, even if you are at a horseradish festival!!!

Next we headed over to the root golf and root toss area. Pete was working the areas, so we hung out to help. Mom even got in on the action. She threw the root the farthest for her age group and won!!!

After the root toss, the kids asked for an icee. We were headed over to enter them in the kids root sacking race, but by the time we got there they were on to something else. Although, this made the kids happy, as they were not keen on doing the sack race anyway!!

Grace finished her icee, and this is what the end result was!! I am not sure she even got the icee in her mouth!!...LOL

On the way back to the root toss/golf, we met an English Mastiff, named Daisy. She was only a year old and the sweetest thing ever.

Luke stopped by the festival.
We had a GREAT time with everyone and it was the perfect day to relax and not worry about the house for awhile!!!
