Tying Shoes...

It is not very often that I write something that doesn't follow with a picture of some sort, but this was too funny not to share...

This morning we were in our usual routine of getting ready for school and Seth has been in this kick of wearing a button down shirt everyday. I think we have one for every day of the week!!!haha So, I tell him to get dressed for school and of course he comes out in a button down shirt and jeans (whats new, right?haha) and his "harley" boots (these would be a pair of black dress shoes). We have always bought velcro shoes for him since he was able to put on his shoes by himself until now.

He can now tie his own shoes!!!! This is the funny part...I told Grace to get some shoes so we could take Seth to school and I was thinking just a pair of croc type shoes, since we were coming right back home, but she had a meltdown. Seth came in and said "Mom, crocs don't tie!!" I am looking at him like "sorry, didn't realize that is what the problem was". Seth gets Grace's tennis shoes (because they have laces) and I start to put them on her. She tells me "No Mommy, Seth is going to put my shoes on because he can tie now!!" Now, who am I to argue over Seth helping Grace with something that she is going to let him help her with!!!

Dance class...

not only was Seth out of school for christmas break, so was Grace. She has been in a dance class since October and loves going...Monday was also her first day back to class. When I went in I walked up to the front desk to pay my bill for the month and noticed that a lot of the other parents were asking about a dance recital. I didn't really think much of it and thought that the instructor was making all the kids practice but only a few were going to be in the recital. I didn't think any more of it, thinking Grace has only been in class since October and she probably won't be in the recital. Well, completely mistaken...the instructor handed me a bill for the recital for Grace's costumes. This ought to prove hilarious come May for the recital. So mark your calendars for May 18, 2009. I am not sure of the place and time yet, but you can bet there will be pictures!!!

School is in Session Again...

Monday was the first day back to school for Seth, and boy was he ready for it (maybe I was too...haha)!!! Grace and I went to visit Mom and help clean up her room (Dad painted over the weekend) and get ready for playgroup on Tuesday!!! Grace wanted to play with her new playdough set so we took it with us. This occupied her for awhile, (that is until she actually realized she was at school and could play with a lot more things!!!)

Promotions...

Richie went to work yesterday for the first time this year and he added a stripe to his uniform!!! We are very excited for him and looking forward to the challenges in store for us in the Air Force. (Maybe a move!!!haha)

Slurp!!!

A few months back Aimee was at a scrapbooking store and she was telling me about the lady that owns the place and how she found a website to "slurp" your blog into a book. Having done some scrapbooking myself I decided to look up this website to see what it was all about. I also got this idea from Annie who wrote on her blog about not having done a baby book for Olivia, because she realized that she had documented everything on the blog, so she too was going to find a way to bind the blog into a book for the kids to read.

www.blurb.com is the place to do it!!! I have finished my book and it is now in publication and on the way. This site is awesome, you can pick your own page designs and fonts and the book can be hardcover. The price is right too!!!

I realized while I was make the book that this was going to cost WAY less than scrapbooking all the pictures that I used on the blog. So if any of you are interested in saving your memories for your kids to read later, this is a great website!!! I will let you know how it turns out when I get the book...

Happy New Year!!!

This year we had a few friends and their kids over for New Year's Eve!! We set the kids up in our bed for a movie (Grace was already asleep when everyone got here). Alvin and The Chipmunks was the movie of choice.

Once the kids were ready we headed downstairs for some Wii boxing. Aimee and Kate were the first to duke it out!!! Aimee's arms hurt for the rest of the night!!LOL

Mario cart was the next game of choice and there were four controllers and that made for a great race!!

Richie got a new game for christmas, Phase 10 twister, and it proved to be a pretty good game!! Aimee, Kate and I played that while Dawnjulene showed Amy and Kevin how to play phase 10 dice. (Do you think we like the game phase 10??!!!!)haha

While we were playing board games some of the guys decided they were going to play Wii boxing. Jeff took on Jared. This proved to be hilarious!!!

Happy Birthday Dawnjulene!!!

Two days after christmas was Dawnjulene's birthday and she and her husband, Derrick, invited us out to dinner with them. We went to Outlaw Blues for dinner. This is a new restaraunt in O'Fallon. They have great food, so if you are ever in town check it out!! After dinner we went and played some pool at a local pool hall, Baxter's.
