Grandparents Day...

Last Tuesday was Grandparents Day at Grace's school...she asked Nina to come to school and do crafts and have snack with her. The kids started out singing a few song for the G-parents and then moved on to puzzles and crafts.

Grace enjoys doing puzzles...she takes turns with you putting in the pieces.

On to the craft. They made bookmarks for the Grandparents...this requires LOTS of glue and stickers!!!

Now, snack...they had ice cream and cookies.

After snack, Grace showed Nina the toys in the room...they started out with the dolls
blocks...

Although, books are the favorite for Grace...she will sit for a long time and listen to Nina read stories to her...

2009 Scott Air Force Base Airshow...

Last week was chaos around here. Richie working 16 hour days because he was on the executive committee for this year's airshow. Grace and I went out for lunch with him one day and I finally figured out why he volunteers for this crap...LOL (He know how much I DISLIKE going to airshows that the only way to drag me there is to disappear for a week so I have to go so we/kids can see him...)
The kids and I got up that morning and headed out, walked a mile from the car to the airshow. We met up with Tina, Doug, Freddy and Ben. Watched Tora, Tora, Tora (they reenact Pearl Harbor). I will have to admit that was pretty cool!!
After the show, Doug took the kids up to the front of the area to watch the firemen put out the fires the "planes" made from the "bombs"...
Once all the excitement was gone, we headed over to the tarmack and waited in line to walk thru a plane (that took almost an hour)...It is always a good time when you are surrounded by family and friends...We got home about 2pm and took showers and got ready for a relaxing afternoon at home when I heard something outside. The headliner for this year were the Canadian Snowbirds and they were right over the house!!! They came around 2 or 3 times to get into formation and then head to the base...

Labor Day Weekend...

Sunday was Richie's birthday and the whole family came over for some lasagna, salad and garlic bread...and for dessert...boston creme pie. Of course the night before I was at Disney on Ice with the camera and the battery died at the very end of the show. So, Sunday when the party came along, I forgot about the camera and didn't take it out, til Monday. On Monday we went boating. I went to go get the camera to take pictures and then realized the battery was dead. So, I used Tina's camera..thank you very much!!!

I babysit for an amazing family on Thursdays. They live down the road from us and have two wonderful little boys, Freddy (4) and Ben (1). Tina called me on Friday and asked if we wanted to go out with them on Monday to the lake. We took them up on the offer and set out Monday morning. We met up with Tina's brother (who just bought a ski boat) and her parents and friends.

Meeting up with friends to start our skiing adventure.

Tina went first, the kids were watching with interest...

Ben, relaxing in his chair. He is such a great kid, just goes with the flow of things!!!

Next we met up with Tina's brother and Doug took Freddy skiing.

He looked like a real pro out there. Having the time of his life...
Freddy is such a joy to be with. He is a great kid with an amazing imagination!!!

After seeing Freddy ski, Seth was up for an adventure. Doug took Seth next. The smile on his face says it all!!! Getting out of the water here...

The guys on the boat watching Tina and Grace ski.

Seth was on the ski boat with Freddy and me watching Grace and Tina ski.

Grace getting ready to go...
Up she goes...smile on her face!!!

All the kids got one pass and then were supposed to let go of the rope, but Grace was afraid to let go. All of the kids had a BLAST!!!!

After skiing we went over to where there used to be an island and anchored the boat. We all got out and walked around in the water while the kids played with the sand under the water (it was about 2 1/2 feet deep.

We had a GREAT time. Thank you so much Doug, Tina, Freddy and Ben!! You have an amazing family and friends. Thank you for including us on your Labor Day Weekend!!

Disney On Ice...

Saturday morning Missy called and said she had 2 tickets to see Disney on Ice and wanted to know if I wanted to take one of the kids. Since I had taken Seth to a birthday party that afternoon, I decided to take Grace and make it a "girls night out". She had no idea what we were going to do or where. I met Tiffani and the girls at Mom and Dad's and when we got there Grace said, "come on girls it is time to go out!!". We drove to the St. Louis Family Arena. It started out with the Donald Duck and Goofy pushing the zambonie off the ice...

Aladdin was the first act...

Minnie and Mickey are the cutest couple ever!!!

Next all the princesses and princes came out. There was Cinderella, Pochahontas, Belle, Ariel, and Snow White...

Toy Story...

It's A Small World...

Mulan...

The Incredibles...

The Lion King...
We had a blast...Thank you Missy for inviting us!!!!

Birthday Party...

This labor day weekend, we were going to go to the condo, but the weather man said it was supposed to rain all weekend. So, we opted to stay home and watch the rain. Seth had a birthday party for one of his classmates on Saturday. I took him to the party while Grace stayed home with Richie, who took leave for the weekend. He had a good time playing and running around with all of his friends...

Sleep Tight...

The kids were in bed at their normal time last night. Richie and I watched a movie and then headed to bed ourselves, but before making it to our room, we checked in on the kids. This is what we found in Grace's room!!! Yep, Iron Man pajamas and a sleeping mask!!! LMAO

Of course I have to take pictures!!! She didn't budge when I put the covers over her. I was afraid she was going to open her eyes under the mask and freak out because she couldn't see anything. NOPE!!! Not one flinch...

GOOOO! Grizzlies!!!

Aimee called me and asked if I wanted to take the kids to a Gateway Grizzlies game, she had some tickets from a co-worker that were not going to be used. She wasn't feeling well and wasn't sure if she was going to make it or not. There were 4 tickets so I called Mom to see if she wanted to go with us. We found our seats and they were in definite foul ball territory. Both kids brought their gloves hoping to catch a foul ball!! First we ate. Gotta love ballpark food!! Kids wanted pizza…

Grace and Mom were blowing bubbles...

We were sitting right in front of the visiting team bull pen (Rockford Riverhawks)

While were watching the visiting team bull pen warm up, there was a guy standing next to the catcher in the bull pen watching for foul balls so the catcher didn't get hit with one. Seth was inching his way to the wall to get closer to the action and one ball came over towards the catcher and the guy threw it up into the stands and Seth caught it!!! You would have thought the guy had given Seth a piece of gold!!! His face lit up...
