Red Day..
Today is red day for Red Ribbon Week. The kids are really enjoying dressing up different everyday for the occassion. Every time I take a picture of these two, I swear they have grown another inch in mind and body. SCARY!!
Off to College...
Seth has been taking part in a study at McKendree College the past couple of Thursday nights and lasts for 5 weeks. He is really enjoying himself and learning about weather and seasons. The education majors at the college put this program together as an "outreach" type thing so that they can practice their teaching lessons before going onto their student teaching next semester. It seems to be working, the class Seth is in has K and first graders and the teachers had to adjust their lesson plans for this week. So, it works for both the teachers and kids. I hope they have more things like this, he has a really good time and is meeting new friends in the process.
My Reading Record
Thursday was a big day for Seth. He has gone all week without getting any sticks pulled in school. YAY!!! This is very exciting for all of us. He also got his free pizza for the reading program from Pizza Hut. We had to read 10 books in the month of October and turn in the paper for his coupon. Yesterday he got his coupon and I bet you won't be able to guess where we went for dinner? haha. He ordered his very own personal pan pizza.
Seth waiting for the waitress to place his order.
Boy, that pizza sure is good.
Grace enjoying the cinnasticks for dessert.

Grace's Halloween Party...
for school was today. I have seen some good costumes, but this year topped it off. There were so many different ideas, it was great. All of the kids were so excited to put on the costumes and have a parade around the school and to the office. We stopped in the office and sang songs for all "the ladies" as Grace would say.
Here is Little N as Master Yoda.
Grace and E waiting for all the other kids to find their way to the rug for a group picture.
Here we have E as the black Spiderman and F as the red Spiderman and of course we can't forget B as the sleeping bumble bee.
B was a Kangaroo and L the scarecrow and C the angel.
The whole gang.
Red Ribbon Week
This is Red Ribbon Week at school and Seth is really getting into the dressing the part for the cause. Monday was "Team up Against Drugs" and we you could wear your favorite team jersey. Now, here is were you would probably think Cardinals, right? No, he decided to wear his Lebanon t-ball t-shirt instead. LOL
Tuesday was "Drugs and I don't Match", and you could wear mismatched clothes, and boy did the kids look silly. Grace even got into it. This is were I forgot to take pictures and realized that night that I needed to be taking pictures.
Wednesday was "Drug Free is No Sweat", and you could wear sweatpants and sweatshirts to school. This is what we call comfy clothes in this house and so we were well prepared for this day.

Today, Thursday was "Put a cap on Drugs", and you could wear a hat to school. Seth was excited for this and he wore his purple t-ball hat with his black t-shirt that we made over the weekend at Aimee's. Grace wore hers to and had to show everyone at school.

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking...
A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat , and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing, and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'
Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, friend) influences the life of a child.
How will you touch the life of someone today?
My Mom sent this too me and it reminds me so much of my kids and what they do by watching me. It is the little things that you look forward to.

1. Workout is like a four letter word to me. I always think of new ways to try to lose weight, but it never "works out" because of that word. I wish I had the discipline to stick to a workout regiment, maybe I would lose the rest of the weight I want to.
2. I love horses and wish I had more time to ride.
3. I have hobbies, probably too many. I have lots of unfinished hobbies around the house. I used to scrapbook, but found that blogging was much easier. I love taking pictures of, well, everything. I love to swim, but that would require that one word in the first note (workout).
4. I LOVE to travel. I guess you could say the military is definetely the life for me. Richie has 10 more years left and we are hoping that we can do one more overseas tour before he retires. We did one before kids and would love to take the kids to see other parts of the world.
5. I really, really really dislike winter. I always feel like I do more laundry in the winter, I don't like mopping up the water from the snow everyday, sorry, every five minutes from someone coming in the door. Snow looks better on a postcard. LOL
6. In writing these six things, I have come to the realization that I am pretty boring person, as I am having a hard time thinking of things to write. hahaha
