I know I am way behind...I have not had the internet for almost a week and the kids and I are just now getting over a stomach bug...ugh :(
So I will start this with Monster Jam...This year we went with a bunch of friends like we did last year. The only difference was this year we were able to go to the pit party before the show. We saw the trucks up close and personal before they had to move everything. Grace still doesn't like the trucks when she is standing next to them, but she is hollering up a storm when the show begins and very excited!!
Avenger!!!
The boys striking a pose!!! LOL
The kids were all hiped up for the event. After the pit party we all went out to dinner at TGI Friday's Downtown StL. Mardi Gras was also the same weekend along with a home Blues hockey game...needless to say this made for a wait at the restaurant!!! Not to bad though...we had a great time!!
At half time of the show they had a "demolition derby" with cars. It was incredible...
They usually have a motorcross/4 wheeler races, but this was WAY better!!
The show itself was ok...first are the races and then after intermission is the freestyle event. This is what everyone really comes to see!! The big jumps and crashes!!! This year was not as exciting as the past years. With everyone being so cautious with the accidents recently they have really tightened up on the safety switches in the trucks. Here are a couple of pictures of trucks before they were broken...
There were 12 trucks out that were going to perform...usually 11 will go before GRAVEDIGGER...He is the reason everyone comes to this and he usually puts on a really good show...not so much this year. He jumped his first jump and that was it :( Everyone was booing and very disappointed while they were getting up from their seats and then we hear over the loud speaker to wait "Air Force Afterburner has some left in him and is coming back out!!" Thank goodness he did...he really did put on a good show and put a little more hope back in everyones minds that Monster Jam is fun to go to!!! Although, what I am really thinking is, "Leave it to the military to clean up after everyone's mess!!!" LOL
