Horsradishs Anyone?

So, Saturday we went to Collinsville for a little family time and enjoyed a little horseradish fun. Pete and Missy were working during the Horseradish Festival and we decided to go bug them for the day.
We started out at the Home Depot pavilion where the kids got the put on their own aprons (with names) and some safety glasses and build a boat. Seth has been asking to build something with Richie ever since then. (Sorry, Dad Lowe's wasn't there.) LOL

Boy Oh Boy. Building is hard work, now it is time for lunch, where we enjoyed some brats and ribbon fries. The kids were all over the fresh squeezed lemonade.

Now it is time to burn off that sugar from the lemonade. Here are Pete and Seth playing some "Root Golf". The Festival used horseradish roots and carved them into the shape of a golf ball. The closest person to the pin won. Seth did a great job for his age division.

Now it is time to pick your poison for the "Root Toss".
Great throw Seth. What an arm!!!

Now we have to measure the distance. I think we may have a winner here!!!

It is now time for our afternoon snack before we leave. These watermelons were so juicy, and can you believe they were only a QUARTER piece! That's right, you heard me, a quarter. Well that's all for the annual Horseradish Festival in Collinsville, IL. If you are ever in town around this time we will gladly take you to the festival were you too can show off your "Root Toss" and "Root Golf" expertise. LOL
